The Ochre Pits are located 5kms north of Lyndhurst. Many years ago, the Queensland Aborigines’ would walk to SA to trade flints for the ochre. The Ochre was used to paint their bodies for ceremonial purposes. The pits are still there today with all their glowing colours.
